New SmartScript Bridge (API)
In late 2020, Amadeus discontinued their old +Script API in Selling Platform Connect and all agencies are now required to utilise their SmartScripting infrastructure instead. This requires both a change in your Selling Platform Connect configuration and the installation of their SmartScript Bridge.
The SmartScript Bridge is the 'API' we use to gather information from the GDS and is now the only pre-requisite for our tools to work successfully on Amadeus Selling Platform Connect. With the SmartScript Bridge, Amadeus has also removed the reliance on Internet Explorer - and the associated settings that used to be in place for Amadeus Plus Script - so customers are now able to access Amadeus Selling Platform Connect via Chrome, Edge, Firefox etc.
To have the necessary configuration changes performed, and to access the latest SmartScripting Bridge installation, Agencies will need to contact their Amadeus Account Manager. Please ask them to ensure SmartScripting has been activated against your Office ID and that the Navitas Desktop Launcher settings are added to your Selling Platform Connect configuration. As of Jul 2022 the latest version of the SmartScripting Bridge installer was v5.3.1
NOTE If you work in a Terminal Services / Citrix environment it is important to flag this with Amadeus as they need to deploy the changes in a slightly different way.
Once you have confirmed that SmartScripting is in place and working correctly - in order to use the latest API you must ensure you are running the most up to date version of our tools, as of 1st October 2020 the absolute minimum versions that work with SmartScripting are,
Decoder Suite - v1.11.8
Itin to X - v2.4.11
Ticketing Inspector - v2.1.2
VisaEase - v2.2.4
In addition, there are a couple of things to make you aware of when moving over to the new Smartscript API;
Our applications are no longer launched from the toolbar or Script menu within Selling Platform Connect – instead, like most other applications, they are now launched from the Start Menu in Windows. Note: Once you have run the application at least once you can also pin the application icon to the Window task bar for ease of access.
The recommended option for pinning the application to the task bar is as follows;
Search for the application name via the Windows Start Menu (bottom left corner), in our example below we will use Decoder Suite, once found, right click and select 'Pin to Taskbar'.
There will be an increase to our pricing for running the tools on the new Amadeus Smartscript API.
This new API incurs a charge from Amadeus, and as a result we will have to increase our pricing a little to cover this increased cost. Please contact us to discuss the charge for the tools you are using.
Please note the pricing increase will only be added on to your invoice from us once the charging from Amadeus has commenced. We’ll keep you updated on this.
